Online game visual designs
I was a UI/UX designer at Kabam and Nexon America, online game companies based in California, from 2010 to 2016. During this time, I designed websites and mobile games for various game titles.

My role
For web games, I designed loading screens, item shops, sign-up/sign-in processes, and marketing materials. For mobile games, I focused on crafting intuitive and engaging mobile screen interfaces.

Challenges/Retrospective
UI/UX design for games is highly visual-centric, requiring designs that are both visually appealing and true to the game's unique vibe and essence. To achieve this, I spent hours playing the games of the companies I worked for, immersing myself in their world to translate their essence into my own visual language. I mostly used Adobe Photoshop to mimic the games' visuals. Characters and environments were done by the art teams, and I did the typography, UI elements, and overall colors and patterns.
